CARMEL COMMUNITY CHURCH
EVERYONE MATTERS

Important announcement

The document below should be read with the future of Carmel Community Church at the forefront of your thinking. We all want CCC to continue to grow and thrive and as such we need to make plans and ask God to give us wisdom in all we do.

Statement

I am making this statement on behalf of the elders and trustees regarding the leadership of Carmel Community Church over the next 18 month and the appointment of a new associate minister.

I have attended this church since 1979 (46 years). When I first came as a 20 year-old there was an immediate connection with my spirit, and it has been home ever since.

During my time here I have been a Sunday school teacher, Campaigners leader, Jigsaw Club team member, deacon, house group leader, elder, executive pastor and senior pastor and generally done anything that needed doing.

At the age of 20 you never imagine you will reach the age of 66 – but I have. We have journeyed together through the ups and downs of life and I have grown in my faith as we have been joined together as a family.

With age comes the reality that at some point retirement will happen.

For three years the leadership of Carmel Community Church have been praying for God's plan in appointing the next senior leader of Carmel Community Church. We have spoken to AOG leaders who have suggested a couple of possible candidates, but we felt they were not right for CCC.

Over the last six months we have been in talks with Catie-Anne Harper and her senior leaders at Revive church New Mills regarding the position of associate minister with a view to becoming the next leader of Carmel Community Church. We firmly believe that Caitie-Anne is equipped and called to this role. We are delighted to welcome Catie-Anne, her husband Craig and their sons Joshua and Duncan.

We have a planned transition period of 18 months when she will learn our values and vision and get to know all the church family here at CCC.

Catie-Anne is currently working as a chaplain part time and will take up a part time position at Carmel Community Church from week commencing 1st September 2025. But will attend here as often as she is ableI am confident that you will all support Catie-Anne in all she will endeavour to do as she prepares to take up this new role and responsibility.

Linda and I will remain in the fellowship supporting the new leadership team. Initially I will remain in my current role with reduced hours and there will be a transition of responsibility as I move closer to retirement.
